The Network for International Law Students (NILS) is an international, independent, nonpolitical, non-profit-making organization run by and for law students. Founded in 2014 by Pratik Bakshi NILS currently has members from over twenty-six countries across six continents. They represent NILS at the national level, assist us in achieving its objectives and contribute to our ever-growing diversity.
Through various events Residential Schools, Moot Court Competitions, seminars, Publishing Law journals, Delegation program, workshops and social initiatives it encourages the capabilities of law students to become internationally minded, socially responsible, academically committed and legally skilled.

NILS Bangladesh is the National Chapter of NILS comprised of other local chapters of Bangladesh and promote the goal of NILS International. Besides helping Bangladeshi Law students get international exposure, it also helps International law students get acquainted with the legal scenario in Bangladesh. NILS-Bangladesh organizes workshop, seminar Competition, conference as the attempt of enhancing skill to develop inherent potentiality and increase opportunity of Law Students by representing themselves, their department and their Country through dynamic activities in this fastest growing world. The National Board is now headed by Luthfunnahar Shancyi as President and Fatima Zahra Ahasan Raisa as General Secretary along with 21 Board Members from different public and private universities for the year 2021-2022.
NILS has proved to be a key player in enhancing international understanding and cooperation between law students and young lawyers since its foundation. NILS shall have the following purposes/objectives:
- To Create Awareness Of Law And Justice;
- To Facilitate The Recognition Of The Social Responsibilities On Law Students;
- To Understand And Appreciate The Diversity And Share The Ideals Of Law In Society Through Exchange And Communication Among Law Students Of All Countries;
- To Motivate Law Students To Develop A Creative Spirit Through A Network Of Joint-activities Among Law Students Of Different Countries;
- To Encourage The Enhancement Of The Capabilities Of Law Students To Become Internationally Minded, Socially Responsible, Academically Committed And Legally Skilled.
NILS cooperates with various bodies, such as, law firms, companies, institutions and other student organizations/ bodies with objectives similar to that of NILS. By establishing such partnerships, we with the support of our partners contribute to legal education and the profession as whole by helping law students recognizes their social responsibilities and learn the ideals of law.
